I believe Thunderbird has always included a newsreader since its
inception, as did its predecessor Netscape Communicator.
I personally prefer Mozilla SeaMonkey, which is a more direct
descendant of Communicator. It offers similar news features to
Thunderbird, but has a much nicer user interface (for me anyway!).
