Who picks up the tab when a business goes bankrupt?
Another segment of the public, that's who.

That's not the solitary reason which, if you're not
braindead, you already know. That being said, yes,
increase to healthcare costs is partly due to caring
for all in an emergency, but the proportional increase
due to that reason reflects 1) some degree of random
variation arising out of accident rates over the
short term and 2) the rate of increase of a destitute
aging population. In short, it is not the cause for a
runaway increase in healthcare costs.
