If the transmitters are within range of each other and on the same
frequency, they will interfere.  This will cause peaks and nulls in the
field strength, making your signal useless in many cases (particularly for
people in cars).

Your best option is to find a really high site, and put your highest power
transmitter there, along with a link receiver.  Send your programmes to the
remote transmitter from your studio via a link transmitter.  Save your
other transmitters as "spares" for the time that the "authorities" come and
steal your main transmitter and link receiver combination.  When your
equipment is removed, find another high point, and install your next
transmitter and link receiver combination....
