Erm, unless you have a private IP network, SSL on server-server is not
useless. In a typical scenario, you have several servers spread across the
globe, with server-server links going over the same Internet we all use,
and typically nickserv or other services will be running in one central
point. Thus, SSL server-server prevents plaintext nickserv password
sniffing over public internet links between the servers.
