Yes, Python might even be better. Perl or Python are both open
source and I like that. I don't know much about firebird but sqlite
sounds interesting and it likes Python. I was thinking mysql from
the web application side and the fact that so many sites are using
it for heavy traffic sites; like Wikipedia, so it would seem there
wouldn't be a problem with it keeping up with a busy message base.
When you talk about a web interface to usenet newsgroups the
response is a little on the negative side. These networked message
bases need to be where the people are now... and most people now
only think web browser when it comes to the internet. So, if usenet
doesn't want to go where the people are maybe FTN or QWK should lead
the way.
